The aim of this eBook is to provide a comprehensive overview of the innovative educational initiative known as CitEuroPass.
By integrating online modules, frugal innovation projects, and practical applications, CitEuroPass vividly portrays the essence of being a European citizen in today's interconnected digital world.
In an environment with cultural diversity, environmental challenges, and globalization, the countries of Europe offer diverse cultures and opportunities. However, a critical question remains unanswered: How can the youth of Europe truly understand, grasp and get hold the European citizenship essence? CitEuroPass stands as a response, presenting a collaborative, long-term initiative designed to bridge this educational and societal gap.
Emerging from dialogues among researchers and students within the #European #Research #Community (ERECO) network, CitEuroPass aims to integrate an understanding of European citizenship into the academic world. Fundamentally, this project employs an innovative "learning by doing" pedagogical approach to cultivate not only knowledge but also the essential skills and attitudes vital for European citizens. By engaging students from diverse academic backgrounds in international teams, the initiative promotes experiential learning through real-world project management scenarios focused on frugal innovations in biotechnology. From these experiences, nine prototypes will emerge, each associated with a corresponding business model.
Through the power of experiential learning, the CitEuroPass project seeks to address the need for collaborative skills in international environments and the importance of ecological awareness. The development of solutions generates the production of open-source documentation at the end of each prototype. CitEuroPass provides participants with the competency of 'working together,' a skill highly valued by international recruiters and businesses. With its knowledges, skills, and attitudes, graduates are well-prepared to navigate on the sea of today's global job market, thanks to CitEuroPass. These skills are confirmed by openbadges which are digital certifications of the acquisition of the targeted competences.
